Risto Puurunen, Panu Ollikainen, Annina Mannila

Portal, 2025

The installation work Portal produces sensory twists of reality using 3D shadow technology, kinetic sculptures, photographs projected through water, and soundscapes. The work invites visitors into a surreal living room where different time levels mix and reality is in constant flux. As they move forward, the audience can also see behind the images projected onto the space, into the engine room of the artwork.

In his work, Kuopio-based visual artist Panu Ollikainen focuses on sculpture, painting, and installation art. His art deals with the relationship between humans and the environment, as well as themes related to time. Ollikainen has worked extensively in Finland and abroad. His works are included in the collections of the Finnish National Gallery and HUS, among others.
